You can tell how busy our week was by the number of times we ate at McDonald's.  We ate there quite a bit this week and sometimes twice a day.  Sunday, the Lake Nona Ward Portuguese speaking Elders and Ruben came for dinner.  We had meatloaf, sweet potatoes with honey butter, corn on the cob with garlic butter, and salad.  For dessert we had cherry chocolate chop frozen yogurt and chocolate chip cookies.  There was only a little salad left over.   Making a McDonald's Run: Zone Conference was held Tuesday for the southern half of the mission and Thursday for the Northern half of the mission.  Elder Faulk is one of the audio visual guys.  Sister Faulk gave a presentation on Colds vs, Flu:  The More You Know.  The main take home messages were wash your hands and get a flu shot.  Flu shots will be given at the next Zone Conferences. Tuesday night we attended a Paul Simon concert in downtown Orlando.  It was his fa...

Labor Day seems to bring the summer to an end and the beginning of Fall... unless you're in Florida.  It is still pretty hot and rains hard for a few minutes almost every day.  The sun sets a little earlier every day.   We love being missionaries in the office.  We keep very busy.  Time seems to fly by quickly and another week has passed.  This week a missionary was sent to the hospital for an orthopedic injury playing basketball.  Elder Faulk gave away a Book of Mormon in the Walmart parking lot while waiting for Sister Faulk to finish shopping.  He also gave a blessing to another Elder who has trouble with his ears ever since arriving in FL.   Sister Faulk's Missionary Bike: We attended the temple twice participating in: Faulk and Morgan family name sealings one evening with the Senior missionaries; and semiannual endowments with missionaries early the next morning.  The mission office sisters celebrated Sister K...

Joseph and Annie and their family came to stay with us over the Labor Day weekend.   It is 800 miles from their home to Virginia to ours in Orlando.   Friday night we went to Gator’s Dockside to sample real gator tail.   The weather forecast predicted rain Saturday and Sunday but Sister Faulk offered a prayer and good weather prevailed for us!   We spent one day playing in the warm ocean at Cocoa Beach and the next day Captain Craig took us around Lake Griffin to look for gators.   We saw many birds including a great blue heron and later heard a splash and glimpsed a long tail going underwater.   The children love nature! What a blessing it is to have a wonderful family who is strong in the Gospel and for sealing ordinances in the temples.   Family Fun at Cocoa Beach: A dip in the pool at Grandma and Grandpa's: Hunting for gators at the swamp: The Cocoa water is fine: Alligator Appetizers: Earlier in...

There were a lot of celebrations this week! The Sister missionaries and Lancelot came for dinner Tuesday night.   Elder Faulk helped Lancelot set up genealogy  work on the computer to prepare family names for temple work.   It was raining very hard so everyone was a little late.   With the first knock on our door we were surprised to find Keeley.   Her visit was a delightful surprise! We knew Wei was coming for a business trip but they kept Keeley’s arrival a secret.   There was plenty of crock pot roast, potatoes, carrots, garlic bread, and salad to share.   We had fresh pineapple slices for dessert. Lancelot commented his mom would make a sweet hot drink for him as a child from boiled pineapple rinds.   We were happy to take another 2 Sister missionaries from a coastal area for breakfast Tuesday morning and feel their warmth and love for missionary work. Wednesday evening we met Wei and Keeley at Bonefish Grill.   It was S...
