Week 28: August 19-25, 2018
There were a lot of celebrations this week!
The Sister missionaries and Lancelot came for dinner Tuesday night. Elder Faulk helped Lancelot set up genealogy work on the computer to prepare family names for temple work. It was raining very hard so everyone was a little late. With the first knock on our door we were surprised to find Keeley. Her visit was a delightful surprise! We knew Wei was coming for a business trip but they kept Keeley’s arrival a secret. There was plenty of crock pot roast, potatoes, carrots, garlic bread, and salad to share. We had fresh pineapple slices for dessert. Lancelot commented his mom would make a sweet hot drink for him as a child from boiled pineapple rinds. We were happy to take another 2 Sister missionaries from a coastal area for breakfast Tuesday morning and feel their warmth and love for missionary work.
Wednesday evening we met Wei and Keeley at Bonefish Grill. It was Sister Faulk’s birthday and they treated us to a great dinner. We appreciate their love and generosity. It was wonderful to see them and spend a few evenings together. Sister Faulk found a chocolate cake on her desk first thing that morning. It was ministering from Sister Kroeger. The mission office staff enjoyed a slice on Wednesday and Thursday morning. What a great way to start the day! We are very blessed to work with good friends and people who love the Lord.

Handmade birthday bag by Michelle:
Sisters Gould, Kroeger, and Faulk went to a local Mexican restaurant for lunch on Thursday. More birthday celebration. These Sisters work hard to ensure the mission runs smoothly and keep everyone healthy. Their selfless service reflects their desire to serve Him. Elder Faulk printed family names for Lancelot so he may take them to the temple and do ordinances for his ancestors.
Lunch with Sisters Faulk, Gould, and Kroeger:
Friday Sister Faulk helped Renata practice English. Learning English is not easy but Renata is making progress. Sister Faulk still does not know more than a few words in Portuguese. It is fun to read together from an English textbook and to see Renata’s young children Julia and Ethan.
Take me out to the ball game. Take me out to the park. Buy me some peanuts and crackerjack. I don’t care if I ever get back. It a root, root, root for the home team. If they don’t win it’s a shame. Yes its one, two, three strikes your out at the old ball game. We saw the Rays beat the Red Sox 4-1 on a Saturday night!
A Ray's Game:
We love serving and are grateful to be a part of the mission-to meet new people, listen to their stories, encourage them to do and be their best, and to draw closer to God by immersing themselves in the Gospel. He is waiting for us!
