Week 99: December 29, 2019-January 4, 2020
Farewell to 2019 and welcome 2020! We celebrated in our new home from 7-9 PM with local Senior missionaries. We had pot luck appetizers, Martinelli’s Sparkling Apple Cider, horns, and confetti poppers. We played games and watched football on TV. It was a fun evening and reminded us of our many blessings such as the Gospel, self-reliance, and friends. We wish all a very happy 2020!
New Year's Eve party with the Gibbons, Ekenstams, and Chatterlys:
We spent New Years Day in Melbourne on the beach. The beach was not crowded. Quite a few people were fishing from the shore. It was very relaxing to watch the waves roll in. Sister Faulk went for a walk in the sand. Afterward, we had a scrumptious coconut shrimp and prime rib dinner at Squid Lips. We tried the banana pudding for dessert and it was not disappointing. During the last hurricane, a sailboat wrecked in shallow water a few feet from the restaurant. We respect the ocean, its beauty and force.

Welcoming the New Year on Ocean Beach in Melbourne:
Missionaries in the Florida Orlando Mission are now responsible for individual first aid kits. The mission feels it will facilitate self-reliance. Sister Faulk sent an electronic list to 164 missionaries as a handy reference. Elder Faulk was busy paying mission bills and ensuring the missionaries had their allotted funds.
This month our ward is responsible for cleaning the church building. Ward members with last names beginning with letters A-F were assigned to clean his first week. So, on Saturday we cleaned the building. With many helping hands, the work was done in no time. It felt good to do our part and have a clean meeting house.
Cleaning the church building:
With the new year and new decade, we reaffirmed our goals. One goal is to continue reading the Book of Mormon. We participate in RED 100 and listen to the Book of Mormon on audio during the drive to the office each morning. It is a great way to enhance the day. We encourage everyone to read a portion of the Book of Mormon daily. It will bless your life as you come to know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ better and follow His commandments.
