Week 92: November 10-16, 2019
We said farewell to our friends the Krogers. For 18 months, they served faithfully with all their heart might mind and strength. They are amazing examples of Senior missionaries. Parting is hard but part we must, however we will remain friends forever. We had seafood chowder, salad, and cinnamon rolls together for Sunday dinner.
Elders Ekenstam, Gibbons, Kroeger, and Faulk:
Sisters Gibbons, Ekenstam, Kroeger, and Faulk:
Monday all the Senior missionaries met at the Ashcrafts for dinner to celebrate the Kroegers, Gibbons, and Makays. Sister Faulk made a salad. The Makays stayed with us Monday night before heading to their assigned Lake Placid area. They will serve for 6 months.
Florida Orlando Senior Missionaries:
On Wednesday, the Kroegers’ last day in the office, we celebrated with a Mexican dinner at Azteca. We wish them well and know they will be happy to be home for the holidays.
Dinner with the Gibbons, Kroegers, and Faulks:
Friday the Ashcrafts, Sister Faulk, and Elder Ekenstam met with the newest missionaries for a 3 week review. Elder Faulk ordered 13 large Papa John’s pizzas. Sister Bair prepared beautiful tables. Sister Faulk brought ice cream drum sticks which were a hit.
The house we intend to buy in Kissimmee passed inspections inside and out with flying colors. Now we are waiting for a 2 party contact to sign. We look forward to moving in December.
Sunday we attended the Kissimmee ward and were greeted warmly. The first person we met was the ward mission leader. He is originally from Jamaica. On Monday, President Ashcraft assigned us from the Lake Nona to Kissimmee ward. The Gibbons also are assigned to that ward and it is nice to have them in our midst.
The weather has been unseasonably cool this week. We even had hot chocolate one night. This is perfect weather for soup.
We have so many blessings. We are grateful for family and friends. We have faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and pray we may valiantly serve Him.
