Week 89: October 20-26, 2019
We received a large group of missionaries from the MTC this week. They arrived Monday and we had a dinner for them Monday night at the mission home. Tuesday morning we met them again to teach the things they need to know about the mission to get off to a good start. We love their desire to serve. Tuesday evening we said farewell to our missionaries who are returning home to their families. We are so grateful for their hard work and love for the Lord.
New missionaries:
Missionaries Spainhower, Wallis, Sanders, Onines, and Crump:
Throughout the week Sister Faulk cared for sick missionaries and Elder Faulk worked on paying bills and managing phones. We are called to serve and do so mostly in supportive roles.
Elders Johns and Bagley:
Friday evening we had dinner with friends Jerold and Debbie Johnson. They lived in our Lehi neighborhood, moved to VA, and recently retired to FL. It was wonderful to see them and catch up on our families.
Saturday the Sr couples met at Daytona Speedway for the monthly activity. The tour was fun and it was exciting to hear the noise from the racecars (nonprofessional) as they zoomed on the track at high speeds (150 mph). The turning banks on the speedway are on a steep 31 degrees angle. Afterward, we had a long lunch at the Metro Café.
Motorsports Hall of Fame:
31 degrees:
Faulks, Bairs, Baenzigers, Kroegers, Gillilands:
We love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what it means in our lives. We love the Savior and know following His example will bring true happiness and lasting joy. We can pray with our families and make our homes a place of peace and love. We invite all to Come unto Him.
