Week 72: June 23-29, 2019
The mission Presidency is changing. We said farewell to President and Sister Clark and welcomed President and Sister Ashcraft. The Clarks are returning to Utah and the Ashcrafts arrived from Idaho. We are so grateful for the leadership and love from the Clark’s. They are wonderful servants of the Lord and fine examples of being His disciples. The Ashcrafts are called to lead the Florida Orlando Mission for the next 3 years. We already love, support, and appreciate them immensely. They are excellent missionaries and will certainly leave an impressive and warm legacy too.
The Kroegers, President and Sister Clark, President and Sister Ashcraft, the Ekenstams, the Faulks:
Not only has the mission president changed but the presidency is changing too. President Burt is leaving to teach radiology and conduct research at a medical school in North Carolina. It has been a pleasure for Elder and Sister Faulk to work with him in ecclesiastical and medical capacities. We look forward to continuing a great relationship and lifelong friendship with the Humphries.
President Clark, President Humphries, President Burt, and Elder Faulk:
The Lake Nona ward held their annual Brazilian Party. There was food, games, and dancing. Everyone had a great time. We invited the Ashcrafts to join us. It was their first opportunity for the Ashcrafts and their 12 year old twin girls to experience the mission field in Orlando. The missionaries made and put up the festive decorations. It was a fun occasion to relax and feel the spirit of love between different cultures.
Lake Nona's Festa Janina--Brazilian Country Party:
This week was pretty hot in Orlando. Sometimes the humidity makes the air feel extra heavy. We’ve had a few short thundershowers and power failures. We see the little lizards scatter along the ground, hop on plants, and crawl up buildings. The swimming pools and oceans are warm from the sun. This is Florida and we are thankful to serve here.
