Week 44: December 9-15, 2018

There is nothing like music to tune our hearts and thoughts toward Our Savior Jesus Christ throughout the Christmas season.  We love singing the Christmas hymns during Church meetings throughout December.  Sunday afternoon we followed an annual family winter holiday tradition and attend a Messiah Sing Along. It was held at a Catholic church and sponsored by a local vocal art group.   It was wonderful and  we’ve been humming songs from the Messiah all week.

Messiah Sing Along in St. Cloud, FL:

Sunday evening we attended a Stake music program with each ward performing several songs.  We were amazed by such talent.  A Polynesian group in our Stake were the last to perform and they made everyone feel merry and bright.

Monday and Wednesday we took Elders to more doctor appointments.   It is great to become better acquainted with individual missionaries and take an active interest in them.  Most are truly grateful for the love and care shown toward them.

Elders Williams and Moore at Taco Bell:

Elders Nava and Stutzman at Subway:

Elders Hart and Potter at Chick-Fil-A:

Tuesday Sisters Ekenstam, Kroeger, and Fauk decorated the mission office.  We set up a tree with lights and ornaments and placed wrapped Book of Mormons and videos underneath it and encouraged the missionaries to take some and give them away.  Our pile is dwindling!  Sister Faulk attended a Relief Society social Tuesday evening.  A simple Mexican dinner was provided and there was singing afterward.

Thursday the Portuguese speaking Elders came over for a lasagna dinner.   We asked them if they had any preferences and that’s what they wanted.  They ate a lot of lasagna!  We were happy to see they had good nutrition.

Elders Rocha and Jorgensen at the Faulk’s:

Friday Sister Faulk taught the newest missionaries health practices to make their mission even better. We came back to the office to find homemade cookies from a pair of Sister missionaries.  What a delight!  We were touched by their love and kindness.

Over the weekend we saw a newly released movie.   We love themes that support family life.  Going to the movies is another fun family holiday tradition.

We love this time of year and we love serving Him.   We encourage you to find ways to remember the Savior and serve one another.
