Week 33: September 23-29, 2018

We are very blessed to make friends through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We love our colleagues in the mission office and those a little bit further away with whom we serve too. We witness their love and kindness, and dedication to serve Him. We love new members and share their joy as they take hold of  Gospel principles and enrich their lives by drawing nearer to our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Elder Faulk gave away 4 Book of Mormons this week:  one to a postal clerk; one to an attendant at a Circle K; one to a gas attendant at Costco; and one to a fellow in need at the Wawa. The fellow at Wawa agreed to learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the missionaries are scheduled to begin teaching him next week.

We attended a concert in The Villages by a Swedish group playing ABBA music. It was fun to hear popular songs from decades ago and watch the audience.

Ruben and Lancelot came over for a speghetti dinner Sunday night. Lancelot’s daughters came too. Elder Faulk helped them with genealogy work.

We spent a lovely weekend with our friends Susan and Craig in Leesburg. Craig grilled fish and scallops then took us on a boat ride just before dusk. We had a Louisiana/Florida style lunch at Weir Lake then strolled through a craft fair.  It was a relaxing weekend.

Sister Faulk finished reading the book One by One by David a Bednar. The Hogman’s gave all the senior couples this book as they completed their mission and prepared to return home to Washington. The book emphasizes how the Savior cared for individuals and touched their lives. We can follow His example by helping others. Elder Bednar does not believe in coincidences but rather timing in the Lord's plan as opportunities to help and lift each other. We can do this wherever we are. We love our callings to serve Him in Florida and are grateful for our many blessings.
