Week 23: July 15-22, 2018
Sunday afternoon, Sister Faulk gave Stephanie a favorite book by President Hinckley, Standing for Something, to celebrate her baptism a few weeks ago Stephanie recognized President Hinckley’s name and said he was the prophet when her husband joined the church so this book will have a special meaning for both of them. Stephanie loves to read and said she can’t wait to start it! Regardless of religious preference, this book is a wonderful guide on how to be true to oneself and treat others.
Sister Faulk taught a Heartcode course certifying missionaries in CPR on Monday! We also welcomed 17 new missionaries from the MTC into our mission Monday evening and hope they will do their best. Sister Clark prepared a delicious meal of chicken and rice. Tuesday night we said farewell to 21 missionaries returning home knowing they have served Him well. Sister Clark prepared a wonderful cilantro lime chicken enchilada meal. Thursday the Senior couple missionaries met at Flippers Pizzeria then attended the temple to do sealings. Everyone enjoyed Flippers. All the couples signed a Book of Mormon and gave it to the waitress. She volunteered to start reading it that night with her 9 year old son!

BLS Class with Sister Faulk and Elder Haderlie:
Elder Faulk submitted over 30 family ancestry names for sealings of spouse to spouse or children to parents. It is a blessing to attend the temple and feel the peaceful calm Spirit along with building more unity within the mission. We hope our ancestors accept the everlasting gospel work being done for them.
Temple Work for Ancestry:
Friday morning Sister Faulk met with another Walmart pharmacist to prepare for missionary flu vaccines during October’s zone conference. It seems wherever you go, Walmarts are the same. Only the neighborhoods change.
Friday evening President and Sister Clark held a dinner at the mission home to welcome new Sr. couples and bid adieu to Sr. friends. We really appreciate gathering together.
Saturday afternoon was spent in the temple doing baptisms and confirmations with Stephanie and Diego, and Elders Cachoeira, Rocha, and Jardine. Elder Faulk brought 68 names from both of our families to share with other temple goers. Sister Faulk met a woman and her son from Jamaica vacationing in Orlando. It was the boy's first time in the temple. You could see and feel his enthusiasm after he completed his series of baptisms. Besides doing baptisms, Sister Faulk helped pass out towels at the baptismal font. She went to get more towels and went through a wrong door. The inside of the door didn't have any handles and she couldn't get out. She knocked and knocked until Elder Faulk, soaking wet, came to the rescue.

A highlight of our week was Elder Faulk conferring the Aaronic Priesthood upon Lancelot on Sunday. Lancelot was baptized in June. He is originality from Jamaica.
Elder Faulk and new Priesthood holder Lancelot:
In just a short time, we have grown to truly appreciate and love the missionaries (young and not as young) and others we serve with. It is a small notion compared to the enormous love our Heavenly Father and Savior have for each of us. We pray we may continue to increase and reflect His love toward others.
