Week 11: April 22-28, 2018
This week we welcomed 5 new missionaries. We love their vibrance and excitement to serve. The mission also said farewell to several Elders and Sisters as they returned home. We feel honored to have served with them. We helped with dinners at the mission home on Monday and Tuesday for the arriving and departing missionaries.
Tuesday morning, Sister Faulk gave a short lesson on health and Elder Faulk taught about missionary personal financial and technological responsibilities. In addition to his financial role in the mission office, Elder Faulk was set apart as secretary to the mission president. That is one way to keep busy!
This week the Church updated guidelines for missionary health which thrilled Sister Faulk. We can feel the influence of our prophet President Nelson.
We were thrilled to spend Friday in Vero Beach. It is beautiful mixture of old and new. There was a mild wind and the Atlantic waves did a little more than roll onto the sandy beach. We never tire of seeing the ocean. Sister Faulk went to Mark’s at the Pointe for a haircut. Afterward, we met Elders Toller and Sweet at a splashpad park on the Indian River for pizza and soda before they had to leave for a teaching appointment. Elders Toller and Sweet are zone leaders and we appreciate their attitude of “just love everyone.”

Saturday we joined our friends Michelle and Steve at Mount Dora’s Blueberry Festival. With the citrus crop declining, Florida is enhancing its blueberry growth. We had blueberry pancakes and blueberry lemonade while enjoying the sights, sounds, and free samples at the festival.
Elder Faulk gave a Book of Mormon to Sebastian, a manager, at Discount Tires. While the car's tires were being rotated, he had a friendly conversation with Sebastian. He returned the next day, talked with him again, and gave him a Book of Mormon. We hope Sebastian reads it and comes to know the love and peace it can bring.
We know Heavenly Father loves us for we all are His children! We love Him and His Son, Jesus Christ. We are so grateful to Our Savior for His example of love and His role in our behalf. We are so happy to be serving a mission in Florida.
