Week 95: December 1-7, 2019

We rejoice in the birth of Our Savior Jesus Christ.  We hope and pray all men will follow His goodwill and accept His everlasting love.

Monday we welcomed new missionaries into our midst with a great dinner at the mission home.  They arrived 2 days after our official hurricane season ended.   First thing the next morning, we oriented them to mission health, finances, housing, and baptism records before sending them off to meet their companions and drive to their new areas.

Also on Monday, Sister Faulk took a letter from Elder Bair, a Book of Mormon, and the most recent General Conference Ensign issue to Albert, a Walmart pharmacist who helped give flu vaccines to our missionaries in October.   She invited him to watch the Church’s Light the World Christmas video.  He asked if he could share it on social media much to her delight.

Tuesday, over another dinner at the mission home, we bid farewell to a few departing missionaries who learned to love and serve the Lord well.  We appreciate all that they did to bring others unto Christ and we learned to love them in the process.   Sister Bair was amazing at planning and preparing the meals both nights.

Wednesday afternoon we had a wonderful opportunity to listen to a webinar on part 1 of FEMA research findings for community emergency preparedness.  Joseph Faulk presented!

Friday morning we closed on a home in Kissimmee.  We are very grateful to Marsha McCready and her husband for taking good care of it.  It was only 36 days from the time we first saw the house to becoming its new owners.  We are excited to be good neighbors and stretch our legs a bit after living in an apartment for about 22 months.  Sister Faulk invited Marsha to watch the Christmas video and gave her a Book of Mormon and a General Conference Ensign issue too.

Friday evening we participated in the Lake Nona Ward’s Christmas Pageant.  Elder Faulk was the voice of the Lord and Sister Faulk was one of the narrators/scripture reader. Ward members acted scenes surrounding Christ’s birth.  It was indeed an endearing opportunity to return and be involved, to see old friends again, and feel the spirit of love.  Currently, we are attending the ward our house is in.

We love to sing Christmas carols and help make things extra merry and bright.  May the Lord bless you and yours this Christmas season!
