Week 90: October 27-November 2, 2019
Flu season is here. Sister Faulk coordinated efforts to teach the mission about the importance of the flu vaccine and to have the mission vaccinated at the end of 2 Zone Conferences this week. Over 70% of our missionaries choose to be vaccinated. Peter, PharmD from Walmart helped us with vaccinations last year and again this year. He and his coworker, Albert, Pharm D were amazing. They took the time to explain the vaccine to every missionary before giving them a shot.
Peter and Sister Faulk:
Elders Applegate and Hanson:
It was the mission office’s turn to provide lunch for the missionaries at Zone Conference. We planned on lunch for 100 and had few leftovers. We had soup, salad, rolls, and cupcakes. We saw a lot of smiles and no one went away hungry. Elder Faulk is in charge of conference audio and makes sure the mics are working correctly.
Sisters Ekenstam, Faulk, and Kroeger:
Elder Bowden broke his nose playing basketball and had surgery to fix it. He is one tough missionary! We took him for surgery and cared for him post-op. He was ready to resume missionary work the next day.
Elder Bowden preparing for surgery:
As cold weather approaches we are very thankful to spend another season in Florida. We enjoy the warmth of a Florida winter. We truly love serving the Lord in our missionary assignments. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know, love, and care for us individually. They will support us during tough times. They have an eternal hope and plan for us to return to them.
