Week 85: September 22-28, 2019
President Ashcraft chose his new presidency. He retained President Humphries and Elder Faulk and added President Hopfer. He invited the presidency wives to their initial meeting and setting apart. Elder Faulk was set apart and blessed with organization, health, oneness in marriage, and meeting new acquaintances. The Ashcraft twins made a most delicious pumpkin dessert which was enjoyed by all. We love how the Ashcrafts are warm and inclusive. This mission is their family affair!
President Hopfer, Elder Faulk, President Ashcraft, President Humphries:
The week went by quickly. We had a trio of Elders for dinner one night. They ate everything! We took Sisters to get new glasses at Costco then had hotdogs. At Costco on another day, an employee commented on Sister Faulk’s missionary name badge. Sister Faulk got her email address and explained a little about the Church. She emailed her and offered her a Book of Mormon and is waiting for a reply. Sister Faulk met Elders at an MD specialist and took them for Slurpees afterward. It seems like there is a lot of food involved but we know it is appreciated.
Sisters Jensen and Parke:
On Saturday Sisters Faulk and Kroeger went to a Relief Society Super Saturday lunch and craft-making event. Two fun stations were making cards and Christmas ornaments from buttons. In the late afternoon, we (Faulk’s) went to Cocoa Beach to watch the ocean waves. Most of the crowd was gone and the tide was coming in. There was a slight wind. it was fun to see the waves get bigger and the clouds turn pink as the sunset. We try to get to the beach at least once a month and marvel at His creations.
Sunset at Cocoa Beach:
We are thankful for our blessings and the opportunities to serve. We look forward to seeing our family again but until then we will support the Florida Orlando Missionaries. We hope our words and actions represent His love.
