Week 39: November 4-10, 2018

We love our family a lot and appreciated the effort Joseph and Annie made to drive 800 miles to see us while we are serving a mission in Florida.  Sunday evening we had 10 around the dinner table in our little apartment.  Lailai, the foster 2 year old, became quite fond of Stephanie (LDS neighbor) and did not want her to leave.  We enjoyed a fun Monday at Daytona Beach before a delicious pizza dinner at the Mellow Mushroom then said our goodbyes.  We hope and pray Lailai will become part of our family.

Ponce Inlet Lighthouse:

We were really busy this week taking missionaries to doctors and coordinating their care.  We always enjoy sharing a bite to eat with them.  Elder Faulk is a good sport to drive Sister Faulk wherever and whenever needed.   We were surprised to learn some areas in our mission have natural hills!   Most everywhere in Florida is flat.

Elders Onines and Osman:

Sisters Stowell and Perry:

Wednesday evening the Kroegers and Faulks hosted a welcome dinner for the Ekenstams.   We had a delicious homemade Mexican meal and ice cream treats.  It was fun to relax and be together even though we are together at the office every day.

Thursday night we participated in temple sealings with the other Sr. couples in the mission, but not before we gathered at Yellow Dog Eats for ribs.  We did family names in the temple.  It is such a privilege and blessing to be able to do temple work and connect with ancestors.

Saturday we took a few hours to walk around Disney Springs.   This was our first time doing that and it was fun to people watch and see what various shops had to offer.  The park was very clean and the sunshine felt good.  Some friends met us for dinner at a local Mexican place.  Sister Faulk loves their tortilla soup and street tacos.

We truly enjoy our mission and are grateful for the people we serve with.  The young missionaries are full of life and love.  The Sr. missionaries are too and we appreciate their experience.  The Lord has blessed us and continue to do so.  We are most grateful for Him and His Son, Our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
