Week 36: October 14-20, 2018

Sister Faulk taught the Relief Society lesson.  The topic was on an April 2018 General Conference Talk given by Elder Massimo de Feo, Pure Love: The True Sign of Every True Disciple of Jesus Christ.  The main points are: we are to love Heavenly Father with all of our heart, might, mind and strength, and He loves us with all of his heart, might, mind, and strength; learn and love to forgive; love the Lord more than man; and a mother’s love.  How reassuring it is to know Heavenly Father loves us immensely.
Four missionaries had dinner with us Sunday night.  We celebrated an Elder being discharged after many days in the hospital. True to Utah nursing culture, Sister Faulk took the medical/surgical nurses a tub of licorice with a note of thanks for their care.

Sunday dinner with Elders Gallup, Littledike, Cook, Rogers, and Faulk:

This week we were busy with clinical missionary appointments and treating missionaries to lunch afterward.  They are so grateful for any little kindness shown toward them.  Sometimes we were so busy in the office and it was too late to cook, so we ate dinner out too.   After a long day, sometimes we fall asleep on the couch.
Lunch with Elders Rogers and Gallup:

Sister and Elder Faulk at New York Pizza:

Lunch with Hermanas Ogden and Wade:

Friday evening, President and Sister Clark held dinner in their home for the Senior missionaries.  We welcomed Elders and Sisters Jenknavoriand and Eckenstam.  We bid farewell to the Gould’s who have been stalwart and faithful friends and neighbors in the Gospel. Sister Puls and Elder Taylor invited us to spend the weekend with them.  How we love them and appreciate their service and strong testimonies.  Life would certainly be less meaningful if we could not lift each other.
Boating on the Harris Chain of Lakes:

Riding through the Dora Canal:

We love our work in Florida and pray for those affected by the recent hurricane.  The destruction is widespread.  Many individuals and families are left homeless.  Our ward’s Elders quorum was assigned to help with clean up efforts and readily left their families for a few days to assist out of state.  We are grateful for their example of being thy brothers keeper.  May we continue to serve Him by serving our brothers and sisters in need.
