Week 17: June 3-9, 2018
This is a birthday week and we have much to celebrate!
Abby Faulk, our granddaughter, turned 6 years old on June 3rd. She lives in Virginia and will begin kindergarten in the Fall. Joseph and Annie are her parents. Abby has 2 older brothers, Gary and Matty. Abby and great Aunt Susie have the same birthday.
Cedar Jane Faulk, another granddaughter, was born June 7th at the University of Utah Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds 15 ounces, is 19+ inches long, and has lots of dark brown hair. She is a remarkable baby amidst complications and we are thrilled with every step of her progress! Daniel and Camee are her parents. Cedar has 2 older brothers, Riley and Miles.
Welcome to the family Cedar Jane Faulk:
How we love all our grandchildren and know Heavenly Father is mindful of them and their needs. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for their wonderful parents and their desire to follow and teach His example. We pray our family may always actively love the Lord and His Son, Jesus Christ, and enjoy eternal blessings. We believe families can be together forever!
Monday evening we shared an evening meal at the mission home with new missionaries fresh from the MTC. Tuesday morning we welcomed them again at a training session where Sister Faulk presented a lesson on health and Elder Faulk provided financial information. Tuesday evening at another mission home dinner we said farewell to several missionaries preparing to return home after serving honorably. We appreciate their efforts and great example along with President and Sister Clark and their tireless efforts to help everyone feels loved and well fed. Our friends and office mates, the Hogmans, passed their responsibilities to new friends in the mission office, the Kroegers.

Farewell to the Hogmans:
Wednesday we had the ward’s Sister missionaries and a ward member, Paul, over for dinner. The Sisters are seasoned, confident, well respected, and loved by all. Paul and his family are preparing to move to Utah, to grow his business. His family is in Utah County this week and we appreciate their love and friendship.
Thursday we attended the temple twice-first thing in the morning before Cedar’s arrival and the last thing in the evening after her birth. We were not able to be in Utah but we could help our family by calling upon the power of heaven through temple service and prayer. We know prayers are heard and answered! Between temple sessions, we helped serve a meal at a missionary leadership training meeting, worked in the office, and briefly gathered at an Italian restaurant with other Senior missionary couples. We are so grateful for the wonderful Spirit found in the Florida Orlando missionaries and their dedication to His work. It is not always easy to consider and address the welfare of others as the Savior did, but we must!
