Week 13: May 5-12, 2018
We were privileged to attend zone conferences twice this week. The mission covers a large geographical area so zone conferences were held for the southern half of the mission on Tuesday and the northern half on Thursday. We saw 6 alligators on the way to and from Thursday’s conference. The missionaries were fortified by the spirit and instruction. They had opportunities to hear from the mission president, his wife, and each other. They had opportunities to practice role playing and talking to investigators. Our purpose is to bring individuals unto Jesus Christ.
Sister Faulk accompanied one missionary to the doctor. Another missionary phoned at 4 in the morning saying they didn’t feel good and questioned what to do. For the most part, this was a relatively healthy week. This is our second week of offering pretzels and fruit snacks in the mission office in an effort to offer alternatives to candy. However, candy continues to be preferred treat with the missionaries.
Elder Faulk and Elder Hogman are in the process of selecting and purchasing living room, dining room, and bedroom furniture to furnish an apartment for an incoming Senior couple. It is interesting to note the difference in prices between Florida and Utah. Elder Faulk painted a dining room wall in their apartment from a dark to light neutral color. He loves projects!
We found a great little Mexican restaurant near us, Tacos My Guey (tacos my way). They serve street tacos (small) , burritos, soups, and drinks. We may have to make that place a habit. Friday we had a delicious chicken dinner at the mission president’s home to officially welcome the Mantyla’s from Midway, UT. They are serving as Member Leader Support missionaries in the southern half of our mission.
We feel His love in our lives and are grateful for so many blessings. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ: faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end day by day is for all who want to draw nearer to Him!
